Join the Kindle Lending Club
Sometimes people come up with great ideas.
To start off, apparently I missed the recent launch of the Kindle lending feature. This new feature allows you to lend your Kindle books to friends for 14 days. A great aspect of this feature is that your friends do not have to have a Kindle to participate in this program – Anyone who has a Kindle, is running Windows/Mac, or has an iOS/Android/BlackBerry/Windows Phone 7 device, can access your lending eligible books. However, not all books are eligible but from my recent searches there is a growing selection. While searching for Kindle books that can be loaned, look for the “Lending: Enabled” product detail.
While the concept of allowing Kindle users to lend books between each other and others is a great idea by its self, the new website http://www.booklending.com/ takes it one step farther. Booklending.com aims to connect Kindle users who have books they are willing to lend with Kindle users who are looking for books to borrow. With the simplistic concept of matching borrowers with lenders, Booklending.com is sure to be a success. Booklending.com has an easy to user interface that will allow even a novice Kindle user to successfully find great new reading content.
All in all, great move by Amazon to release this new feature that is not only a great change for users but also puts them on a more level playing field with the Nook which offers a similar feature. Even more so, great move by Booklending.com to take this feature to a new mainstream level and for their simplification of this process for users.
For the win.
